  2.                Conference Rules for SCANRADIO Conference
  3.                         Moderator, Ken Storm

  5.  These rules are quite simple:
  6.  
  7.  (1)  PURPOSE - This area was created to help join together those 
  8.  individuals in Zone 1 who wish to exchange information, regarding 
  9.  scanner receivers, capable of receiving public frequencies open to
  10.  all citizens of the United States of America.
  11.  
  12.  (2)  CONTENT - Discussions must be on-topic, that is, they should 
  13.  pertain to scanning receivers capable of receiving radio voice
  14.  communications in the bands generally known as, Low Band, Aircraft,
  15.  Amateur, Marine, High Band, Ultra-High Band, and any other 
  16.  frequencies above 26 MHz, which are generally receivable on a 
  17.  standard, commercially available scanner receiver.

  19.  (3)  RESTRICTIONS - As is the norm in the scanner listeners world,
  20.  the information heard on the frequencies, can in some cases be very 
  21.  sensitive.  It is best therefore, to keep all discussions within the 
  22.  parameters of the law.  Discussions of those laws governing scanners 
  23.  and those which address the passing-on of information heard, are 
  24.  allowed.  However, any discussions of a unlawful nature, are not
  25.  allowed.  This includes unlawful equipment, etc.

  27.  (4)  FLAMES - No FLAMES please.  This is a discussion echo, not a 
  28.  place to throw personal thoughts of unrest at another user.  Be 
  29.  supportive, correcting a misstatement in a gentle, knowledgeable 
  30.  manner, instead of blasting away at another user.
  31.  
  32.  (5)  NO COMMERCIAL MESSAGES - It is suggested that any commercial
  33.  product being supported by a user, be described in such a fashion,
  34.  so as not to give the receiver of such message, the idea that the
  35.  sender of the message is trying to sell the product.  This section
  36.  is waived, when the item is a used product and the personal property 
  37.  of the sender.  That is, scanner for sale is allowed, provided it is
  38.  personal property and not part of a commercial endeavor.  The burden
  39.  of supporting a commercial business, in this echo area, costs as they
  40.  are, is  discouraged.  It is however permitted to give advice about a
  41.  product, provided, the user giving the advice has first-hand knowledge
  42.  about the product, and takes no monetary gain from the advice.  
  43.       REMEMBER: This is a hobby echo.

  45.  (6) ZONE GATING - This echo may be gated to other nets, provided the 
  46.  original message content is not changed.  Permission to gate the echo, 
  47.  must be approved by the Moderator of this echo, prior to gating.   The 
  48.  request may be sent via electronic means, to the moderator at one of 
  49.  the addresses shown below.

  51.  (7) RULE FILE - This text file is available from my system, STEAMER 
  52.  ONE, by file request as SCNRADIO.RUL, CM, 2400Baud, 8N1, XA, 23 hours
  53.  a day, except Zone Mail Hour.  Should be HST/DS soon.
